Searching the History, even for a blank string ior a string found in every URL, cahnges the order in which the items are displayed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new Firefox profile
2. Launch Firefox using that profile
3. Visit several sites at the same domain
4. Show Places
5. Select History from the Places sidebar
6. Notice sort order of items shown
7. Type the <Return> key, performing a blank search
8. Enter a letter from the visited domain in the Search box
9. Type the <Return> key, searching for that letter
10. Click "Show Places" again

Actual Results:  
Items shown in the list reverse their sort order when a search is performed, then revert to the original order when "Show Places" is clicked again.

Expected Results:  
Searching should not change the sort order.  When a search is performed that doesn't filter the results, the displayed list should not change at all.

This is the 20060131 Places build, posted as the 20060128 nightly.

this also affects the current trunk 20061226 history sidebar search; str: 1. sort by last visit, 2. type 'b' for 'bug' since you'll have a bunch of bugs includig this one near the top of the list, actual: note that they get buried instead of, expected: staying in order at the top

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body   contains   places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
