Details

I receive all the moderator requests for the list-admin account at mozilla.org. There are thousands per day. They all get filtered into the same mailbox server-side on my IMAP account. When I open the folder, Thunderbird dutifully starts downloading the messages and checking them against the spam controls. It appears to do this in batches of a few dozen at a time. Every minute or two it will move everything that it's marked as Junk so far into the Junk folder. The problem is it doesn't appear to clear the batch before adding onto it, and when it gets to the next batch, it moves not only the next batch, but another copy of the first one as well. By the time this process is completed on a mailbox with 1100 or so messages that wind up being flagged as spam, your Junk box now has about 10 copies of everything from that first batch in it.
