This bug is reproducable in the Tb compose window and all Fx textarea elements (Seamonkey is affected as well).

In a multi-line text area, when pressing ctrl-rightarrow the cursor does not move as expected and as seen in other software (OpenOffice, WordPerfect, Word, IE, Outlook, etc.)

The Mozilla Products move the cursor from the beginning of the last word from the first line directly to the beginning of the first word of the second line.

All other software also stops at the end of the line.

This behavior is affected by layout.word_select.eat_space_to_next_word, but is not fixed by it: then the ctrl-arrow cursor movement is even further away from the industry standard.

Discussion has also taken place here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=380412
I can confirm that Gecko-Applications act differently on that action, but I guess I'd have never discovered it by myself.
This is widget code, isn't it?

Quite annoying indeed. Bug 364228 and bug 517715 are similar problems.
Hi all,

ok, so I understood about five years ago (!) that this bug was not of the highest priority, but seeing that every now and then some other person than me is annoyed by this distracting mozilla (firefox and thunderbird!) bug, I just want to be a bad boy and "bump" this thing.

Nobody so far has disagreed with the report or discussed that the current behavior is intended, and seeing this pertains to all multi-line text-entry boxes (in ff and this big box called writing-an-email in tb), I am hereby begging some gifted programmer to fix this thing.

Anybody? Thank you so much!
