Yes, I can reproduce it in both the following two ways: 1. Clean profile: I renamed the "%appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox" directory. 2. Safe mode: I started firefox with -safe-mode option.
Tried again (in 220.127.116.11), with the same result. Have you tried reinstalling Firefox in a new, empty directory?
I can reproduce it after removing "%appdata%\Mozilla" and had firefox installed in a new directory. Maybe it is a bug of Adobe?
In the next version (2.0) there will be no bookmarks manager anymore but a bookmarks-history center called Places, so this problem will be solved automatically.
Reporter, do you still see this problem with Firefox 2.0? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks! (It didn't have 'Places' that comment 5 mentioned; this is coming for firefox 3)
