Any attempt to download from a webiste a file causes the program to freeze out, and I get not resonding. I am using MAC OSX, and Camino Tools. There were not messages in the system console. I tried re-installing and still have the same problem.

When you say "freeze out", what do you mean? If you let Camino sit for five minutes or so, does it eventually begin responding again?
More importantly, does the Download Manager get triggered, or does the file try to display in the browser window?
