1.8 branch builds currently use an app version of: 1.5 Then next version we'll be releasing from this branch is 2.0a1 (for alpha1) 1) Adjust the version strings to say 2.0a1 2) Update the Tinderbox build machines to handle 2.0 in the file name 3) Add temporary branding string changes to say Alpha 1 like we did for the 1.5 releases.
change the version from 1.5 to 2.0a1. Hard code some Alpha 1 strings like we did for the 1.5 alpha / beta cycle.

I just committed the string changes onto the branch. I've also re-configured the build machines to account for this change and restarted the branch builds on all 3 platforms. I'm leaving this open until I see if I have to do more things to the build machines to make them work with AUS.
this seems to be checking out with todays builds ok. You will have to download the installer again with the 2.0a1 version string before you can start using software update for nightly testers. AUS won't handle the impedance mismatch from 1.5 to 2.0a1 on the nightly builds.
