User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060228 Firefox/1.6a1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060228 Firefox/1.6a1 In any text field or location bar, when I use the arrow keys to navigate the text I get ugly broken line artifacts. When any alphabetic key is pressed they disappear. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Enter text in any text field, e.g. Location bar or search at bugzilla.mozilla.org. 2.Use arrow keys to scroll Actual Results: See broken line artifacts Expected Results: Only rendered one line where the cursor is. Using Fedora Core development version updated as of 2006-2-27, appears both in FC packages and mozilla.org build 20060228.
Can you reproduce this when running in safe mode? (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode)
Yes the artifacts are still there when in safe mode. The version info for my Fedora gtk related packges: gtk2-2.8.13-1 glib2-2.10.0-1 pango-1.11.99-1 Using an nVidia card, video nv driver.
Problem disappears when I use a nVidia PCI card instead, still with nv driver. lcpci says: nVidia Corporation NV18 [GeForce4 MX 4000 AGP 8x] (rev c1) Instead of the integrated: nVidia Corporation C51 PCI Express Bridge (rev a2)
What version of X11/Xorg are you running, and do you get such artifacts anywhere else (in other programs, perhaps)?
Problem returns when integrated video is reenabled, same nv driver as per comment 4. So far the problem is only reproducable on Firefox and Thunderbird, including this very text box and the Thunderbird search box, not any other gtk text component.
