The preferences shortcut available through the Firefox menu doesn't always work. 

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Firefox on OSX
2. Open many tabs, through normal browsing
3. Press the <apple command button> and "," which should open preferences.

Actual Results:  
It doesn't open preferences. However when I open a new window, it works there. I'm not sure what the differnece is. 

Expected Results:  
Firefox should have opened the preferences window.

There is a trivial work around, you can open the preferences through the gui without the shortcut. It's just annoying and should probably be fixed. Not very urgent though.

Just downloaded it today.

The preferences window is unreachable.  Neither the shortcut (apple ',') or menu item Firefox -> Preferences will bring up a viewable preferences window.

NOTE it does appear that the preferences window is being displayed, however it's about 3-4 pixels wide and unresponsive.  Can't get hold of anything to widen the window.  I think the window width is messed up.

I have the same problem, and do not know how to check it.  It usually works on repeated pressings of the key combo, but not the first.

Patch of bug 305479 is not reflected in Mozilla 1.8.0 Branch.
Does the problem occur by following NB?
(Please try with a new profile when trying.)

Yes, with a fresh profile and that specific build of Thunderbird it works.

When will this change propogate to Firefox, 2.0 I presume?

Yes, FIXED is done with Firefox2.0.
