Linux/x86, my own build from CVS. 20060302. When closing Firefox, it normally bring up a "Clear Private Data" dialog, as per my Privacy setting. I have both "clear private data when closing" and "ask me before clearing" set in Privacy settings. The dialog no longer appears when exiting. Switching between 20060301 and 20060302 shows that the problem was introduced in the latter. [Poss better placed under Firefox/History?]

I'm not sure this is a dup. The problem I'm reporting only started happening in the 20060302 build, whereas 327819 was reported on 19th Feb. In addition, I'm reporting that the dialog simply does not appear, whereas 327819 is more to do with the fact that the data is not being cleared. I don't see any connection, I'm afraid; what am I missing? Re-opening...

That's because it is a Places bug, and I found it in a Places build. Places is only recently enabled in nightlies (1 March) so it's not surprising that you discovered it only then.
Ah, ok, thanks. Still, note that the other bug doesn't actually mention the symptoms I'm reporting: that the "ask me" dialog doesn't appear when exiting.
If something throws when attempting to do the cleanup, the clearing will fail and the dialog won't show up, so these are likely the same thing. The bug can always be reopened if it's not the same issue. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 327819 ***

OK, although surely the dialog would appear *before* any cleanup is done, since it's a dialog asking whether to perform the cleanup? As you say, let's see if fixing 327819 cures this too.
