When a website (such as the one above) asks for http authentication, the password dialog pops up, asking for a username and password. The username field works adequately, but the password field doesn't work at all. Not only doesn't it give any feedback as you type, but as I've found at the URL above, it doesn't pass anything you type through as a password. This bug has shown up at all sites I've checked which authenticate via a password dialog box. I selected the above example URL because it seemed to give the most meaningful feedback without me posting a legitimate password here.
Reassign to networking.

This is probably a dup of bug #27784 (although you have to look way down to the bottom to see this), especially if the console shows GDK errors when the reporter attempts to click in the password area of the dialog.
firstname.lastname@example.org - passwords seem to be passing through now. Are you still seeing this problem with recent builds of Mozilla? Gerv
