After opening a "file://" URL on Windows, the URL is displayed in 8.3 filename format making the URL unintelligible if you go back an look at it later.

This still happens on FF 1.5.0.4.  Here's an example:

file:///D:/Projects/CLIENT~2/DOUGST~1/JBASE-~4.0-U/INDEX~1.HTM

I doubleclicked on a .htm file in the Windows file manager (explorer?)
and the URL looks as above.

Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!
