329738 - Automatic Places import adds titles to title-less toolbar bookmarks

I had Gmail, Rocketboom, and Pandora on my bookmarks toolbar without titles (just icons) to save space.  As soon as I started a Places build, the Rocketboom bookmark had gained a title of "Rocketboom" and the Pandora bookmark had gained a title of "I Believe  by  Dee Robert - Find Music You'll Love - Pandora".  I'm guessing it got that information from History.

I don't know whether Places is changing existing bookmark titles or just adding titles to bookmarks without titles, but either way it shouldn't be doing that.

That explains what happened to my Rocketboom toolbar bookmark (I found another bookmark with the title "Rocketboom" and the same URL), but not what happened to my Pandora toolbar bookmark.

I can confirm.

Indeed, it seems that it gets the title from History. If I clear History before migrating, it adds URL as the title instead.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body   contains   places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
