Which sites are you having problems with?

Your crash log has nothing to do with Java: The crash happens in Flash, before the JVM is even started. But, as it happens, both of these sites do use Java applets. I tried the first one (http://www.hkbea.com/) and had no problems. Though (of course) I had to make up a fake account and password, and got an error message when I submitted them. At the second one I had no crash, but my experience there roughly matches "nothing happened" -- I was able to type in a (made-up) account and password, but I didn't get any error message when I submitted them. At the same time a bunch of errors appeared in the Java Console (which I've attached here). It looks to me like the problem is caused by bugs in this banking site's Java applet, or in the JavaScript code that launches it. I tested with Camino 1.0 on Mac OS X 10.3.9. This bug report is almost certainly invalid.
If the Flash crash is reproducible (the original crash log), it might be worth cc'ing someone from Macromedia/Adobe.

Sorry, I have been out of town without internet access(!), so this is a bit late. A friend of mine tried to log in to hk.dbs.com with Safari and it worked. I thought Camino and Safari use the same Java components.

(In reply to comment #7) > A friend of mine tried to log in to hk.dbs.com with Safari and it worked. > > I thought Camino and Safari use the same Java components. Not directly, no; both ultimately use Java 1.4.2, but through very different mechanisms. The issue with the site where nothing happened involved "bugs in this banking site's Java applet, or in the JavaScript code that launches it", which can certainly be tailored to work only with certain browsers, and there's nothing we or Steven can do about those site/applet bugs. If you can reproduce the *crash* on http://www.hkbea.com (which is a crash in Flash, not Java), please file a new bug...this one has gotten too messy.

With all due respect, and I am not putting down Camino, which I love and use every day, but I think that one can make it more tolerant of malformed applets. I tried for hours to join a Google group, only to find that Google insisted that I needed to log in, even though I had logged in before. I logged in, filled in the data, but when I clicked on "join", Google asked me to log in again. This just went on like a loop. Then I switched to Safari and every thing worked perfectly. Just a suggestion from a computer illiterate. :-)

I'm going to take a wild guess here that you were blocking cookies in Camino, but not in Safari. Also, this is completely unrelated to the originally filed "bug", and bugzilla is not a support forum. That's what the, well, support forum is for. cl
