just had an idea: What do you think of this layout-change of thunderbird account settings?

I hate sub-menus like "advanced" or anything else, they make a program very unclear. It's easier for users if there are no sub-menus.
Sometimes you don't see the submenu or don't think that there are so much options in a sub-menu.

So why not combining sub-menu "Advanced" from Server Settings with category "Disk space" ?
There's a lot of free space in category "Disk space" !

The primary reason not to do this is, the Advanced settings change depending on whether the account is IMAP or POP, and all those settings are in fact specific to the server type, and have nothing to do with "Disk Space."  (Altho, the "Empty Trash on Exit" setting, on both IMAP and POP accounts, could be sensibly moved to that category.)

Note, also, that an IMAP server's Disk Space settings page also has the Offline settings on it, so there isn't really that much more room available.  Further, it appears from your mock-up that you're not running with up-to-date software, as there are currently more settings on the POP "Disk Space" page than are seen in that image.
