I have an NNTP account with a few newsgroups i'm subscruibed to. Lately, I started getting N+1 unread messages count in one of these groups, i.e., if there are no unread messages, Thudnerbird says there's one, if there's one, it says two. After I click on that newsgroup to display it, the number gets back to normal (0 or 1 resp.)

I just tried to cache out all nonexistant messages from the newsgroup message list, but it didn't help.

I have one suspicion though - could it be so that Thunderbird counts in a number of messages in the thread I chose to ignore? There was one message I pressed "K" for in that group, and now it doesn't appear in the list anymore (that's OK), but if someone has replied to it, could it be that Thunderbird counts the reply as an unread message until I click on the newsgroup name?

Reproducible: Always

I could check it (see if there is a reply to that blocked message), but I first need to know how to see blocked messages... :)
I'm seeing this aswell, but not sure what's causing this.

One of the groups that showns this behaviour best is the following:
microsoft.public.dotnet.languages.csharp on news.microsoft.com.

Currently it's showing 333 unread, after clicking the group it shows 3. if I then collapse/expand the newsgrouptree all counts are collected again and it's showing 333 again.
