331401 - RSS/Mail time check does not clear previous timer

When you change the preference on how frequently to check Mail or RSS Feeds, the setting does not take effect immediately but must wait for either Thunderbird to be restarted or for the previous timer to complete. 

When the time interval check is changed, the previous timer should be cancelled and the new one started.

 Bob, can you reproduce using current version 2, or v3 beta?

definitely WFM for imap mail.  iirc works also for RSS.
I'm not familiar with issues from that time frame - perhaps others know what fixed it and what problems may still exist
