Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.7
When I try to send a pdf attachment with thunderbird, I get the following error message :
An error occured sending mail. server responded 5/7/1. Message cannot be accepted. content filter rejection RC822. This problem began after I downloaded Acrobat Reader 7. I have since removed it. But still have the same problem.
I can however send other types of attachments, .jpg or .doc or .mp3.
I can use the mac mail to send attachments, but this is not convenient.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open thunderbird, create new mail.
2. Attach PDF
3. Send Mail
Actual Results:
The mail will not deliver. I get the same error messages systematically.

Your mail provider does not happen to forbid sending files of certain types? Can you attach such a message you sent to this bug here? Do this by going to your Sent folder, then save the mail via File->Save As->File and then attach the file to this bug here.
BTW: I'm quite sure the error message said RFC 822, not RC 822 :-).

Thank you for this reply.
1) May mail provider does not forbid sending files of certain types. I have been working fine for months. This is new from the past 2 months.
2) Yes the error message is RFC 822 I apologize for the typo.
3) I apologize but did not quite understand what you are asking me to do. Do you mean to attach here a pdf document that was sent via thunderbird and that successfully was transmitted. I will not have anything in my sent file, if you are referring to pdf documents I tried to send that did not function.
Thank you,
Patricia

Reporter, does the issue still occur in the latest supported 2.0.0.x / Shredder trunk nightlies?
(1.5.0.x is now end-of-life and the latest supported 2.0.0.x is 2.0.0.16)
