331812 - I have very old previously read emails appearing as unread and multiplying each time I open TB. Cannot delete. Get error message and TB closes. More dup emails when I reopen.

Old emails appear and can't be deleted.  They have all been read but appear as new unread and duplicate themselves each time I re-open Thunderbird.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Thunderbird
2.Try to delete old "Unread" emails. Say there were 7
I get error message and you get a report sent.
3.Thunderbird closes.
I open and there is an additional multiple (now there are 14)of those emails shown in Inbox.

Actual Results:  
They just keep multiplying each time I open TB.

Also, I can't access my AOL IMAP mail account.  


This is something new.  I have used Thunderbird for a while with no problems.
