User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 This started with one of the latest releases but worked perfect before. When a passoword is asked for I can check their box to remember it on the web itself or not check their box... either way Firefox will not capture the password. Yes my "remember passwords" checkbox is checked on the Firefox security tab. This is very critical making Firefox almost useless. Given fact that Firefox already lacks a good "auto form fill" feature like microsoft browser with passwords gone is the browser even usful to the modern day web user? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enter a password and user-id first time then press enter or go. 2. Firefox password manager should ask you if you want to save it but it does not! 3. Going to log on page second time password does not auto enter you must do it manually.
Also... checking "remember password" on the web page itself does not do a "normal" cookie password save by the website itself. I don't understand the difference or cooperation between Firefox and the web page technically but no password is saved using the Firefox feature or the web page indicator to save password.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 WFM. Please retest with a new profile. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Folder
I tried a new profile and have the exact same problem. The password save system will NOT save passwords except maybe 2 times in 10 sites where I try it. No there is no sense to when it will and won't save. This is true even when the site says that it allows saving passwords. One idea: There may be a confusion with the site's own "remember password?" check box and the Firefox system may not be saving if the website says it will save it. I've tried checking and not checking the website's "remember password" check box but either way Firefox will not save. This looks like a real problem on the new release... it did not exist before.

Please try again in FF2.0 beta1. It would also be helpful if you included some sample sites which work and some which don't.

Please reopen if you have examples of sites in which this occurs.

The latest version was just downloaded and Firefox will not remember my password. I have tried everything listed on the previous reports. What can be done? Please take another look at solving this problem.
