332462 - Some incompatibility problem causing repeated crashes with eBay

Problem began to develop early this week, around 3/27/06.  When going to certain websites, like eBay or National Geographic, the browser sends me an error message saying that Firefox has detected a problem and that they must report it to Microsoft.  After I press a button saying that they can report it to the server, the entire thing folds.  This has happened MANY times.  I don't understand what the problem is.  I have done virus sweeps, defragmentation tests, I've reinstalled Firefox, I've called eBay, I've done adware sweeps.  Nothing helps.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Start from eBay Alert Monitor, press My eBay or eBay Home.  Or type in eBay for search, then double click on site.
2.  Log in.  Double click from Favorites list of things to peruse or do a search on turntables, Criterion films, dishwashers.
3.  Eventually, the error message will turn up.
4.  It happens repeatedly.  With National Geographic, it just crashes when I double click in the GMail mailbox news area.




I'm not able to retrieve or copy the information that shows what the browser encountered in order for it to crash.  So far it is only eBay or National Geographic, but I am afraid it is going to spread to other saved bookmarked areas.

Here's what I got just now trying to search for turntables on eBay:

Obviously something is making Windows kick up.

Let me add that I have plug-ins for Firefox:  Flash, Shockwave, QuickTime, RealPlayer.  I have taken advantage of them.  Unfortunately this morning, Firefox crashed again(4/2/06).

Do you use extensions like adblock, flashblock? Which version of flash plugin is installed, type 'about:plugins' (without the quotes) into the location bar.
I would like to test the crash with National Geographic in the Newsfeeder of Gmail, but I don't know the address, there is more than one. Which one do you use?
Open Gmail, Settings (top, just to the right of [e-mail] ), WebClips 

Please copy and paste your National Geographic Entry, like this one I use for IHT, so I can configure my gmail to check what I get served from NatGeo.

I have Adblock.  I have the newest and updated Flash Player, RealPlayer and Shockwave.  I also have No Script, but it is on Scripts Global Allowed right now.  I am allowing any kind of script, but this problem with National Geographic occurred long before this new stuff with eBay and the rest.

Usually in the newsfeeder of Gmail, there is a link in Web Clips and I just click.  Unfortunately, what happens is that I get kicked out of National Geographic and Firefox crashes.

Usually it is any story having to do with National Geographic that pops up on the Web Clip band.

Sorry, it is not necessarily National Geographic, but the Discovery Channel that is causing the crashing.

Please.  I cannot access eBay, National Geographic, and now several other websites.  There is something wrong.  I have tried virus catchers to no avail.

I am still getting kicked out of certain websites like eBay and National Geographic using Firefox.  Firefox constantly wants to send information to Windows as it crashes.  I lost some valuable time and informtion that I was trying to send for over an hour because FIREFOX CRASHED. I've had more than two weeks of this kind of problem.  I have tried everything from virus catchers to reloading Firefox and getting rid of AdAware and it has done absolutely NO GOOD.  Firefox has no one, absolutely NO ONE answering phones or talking people through problems.  I want help! I WANT HELP, I WANT HELP!!

Adblock is quite likely to cause this crash. You can try deactivating it (go to Tools / Extensions and right-click on Adblock).

There is one Adblock/Flash crash I know of but it only occurs with Mozilla ActiveX Plugin - are you sure you don't have it installed?
