The Via webmaster has sent no answers from the support mailbox at <support@via.com.tw>, even though I have contacted him/her twice already about this issue.

Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!

FWIW, this WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/2007051502 Firefox/2.0.0.4 by going to the URL and then typing "javascript:printFriendlyView()" into the location bar. The expected page shows up in the new window.

Still the printer dialog appears before the "friendly" page has loaded if clicking the "print page" URL in the document, resulting in a blank page being output from the printer. It seems to be the way that Firefox times the invocation of the print dialog in relation to the Javascript command.
Here's a curiosity: typing the Javascript as in comment 4 in the URL bar directly makes the "print page" link in the page work ONCE if clicked AFTER the command.
Then further clicks on the link revert to incorrect behaviour.
There seems to be nothing wrong with the Javascript; it seems the problem is with a Firefox engine.

Alex, will this be resolved to your satisfaction when bug 306850 is fixed?

Although the named bug relates to print preview, I think resolving it will also fix this bug. Perhaps if a page requests to be printed, ignore it until all the content has loaded on the page.

Adding dependency, since this might be fixed by bug 306850.

The bug is still there in Firefox 2.0.0.6 (I'm responding to Comment 2). Sorry it took ages, I have been away...

Bug 306850 is WFM, so presumably this would be too if the site were still the same.
