Attempting to view page at motorola site causes browser to stop responding completely. Somehow this seems to screw up my X font server as well. If I kill the window, and kill apprunner, I can no longer bring up the mozilla UI. Apprunner will run, without giving any error messages, but no UI will appear. After the crash many applications will not run, including Navigator 4.6. Eterm will open, showing a background, but no text will appear, and the window does not respond. If I then exit X, I cannot restart the server (presumably because XFS is down). Because this does such a good job of effectively killing my machine, it is difficult to pinpoint the problem.
Loads fine here with build 2000032409. (RH6.0, XFree86 3.3.5) Could it be that the page uses a font that's corrupted on your disk? That *could* explain xfs crashing - which is what seemingly happens to you. Which build did it happen on? Do you have "old" problems like Netcape 4.7 crashing on java pages? Or does Netscape 4.7 load this page fine but Mozilla does not? To restart xfs from consolemode, try this: /etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs restart
This page loads fine on 2000042113, Linux glibc2.1, 2.2.14. I am using xfstt and xfs. The browser continues to act normally after loading the page.
Debian woody, today's build (2000050811), it's not crashing for me. Marking this invalid, pdubroy@yahoo.com can reopen it if it still crashes for him/her and he/she's certain it's Mozilla doing it and not a bad linux setup.
