Description

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; NetBSD i386; fr-FR; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060405 SeaMonkey/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; NetBSD i386; fr-FR; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060405 SeaMonkey/1.0

That's self explanatory. I compiled Seamonkey 1.0 (with gcc 3.4.5), and when I try to read my mail (until then kept by Mozilla 1.7.12), it hangs up. The repertory tree on the left appears, so does the icon "Junk", but that's all. It does not go further, and a "top" utility screen shows it caught in an infinite loop consuming all CPU time. I may add that Thunderbirds imports the mailbox correctly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compile Seamonkey
2. Open MailNews client
3.

Actual Results:
It hangs (I've waited 10 minutes, no effect). The MailNews client is simply inoperative, I had to turn back to Mozilla 1.7.12 again to read it correctly.

Expected Results:
It should work ;)

My mailbox has more than 50,000 messages, so size/mail count may be an issue ?

Does it display your Inbox by default when opening MailNews in Mozilla 1.7.12? Also does it try to download new mails when opening MailNews? If you have a build with symbols, could you possibly look with gdb where it is looping?

I have the skeleton of the directory, that is, I get my two mailboxes with subdirectories, when there are unread messages I get bold characters and additionally the number of unread messages. But I don't get neither the detailed list (sender, subject, size…) neither the icon bar expect for the Junk icon. The mouse changes to a clock, and that's that. ^C works, hopefully.

I didn't compiled it with -g, I'll try to do that tonight, and further test tomorrow. I don't know if you are used to BSD ktrace/kdump, I have that available, shows strange things, but it is difficult to really decipher.

Übrigens, viel Dank für Ihre sehr schnelle Antwort ! :)

Ok. It has gone with 1.0.1. Sorry for the noise.
