With the window minimized help -> check for updates -> update window appears
Confirmed. Update window does not appear in 1.5.0.4. (Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4)
