User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 This is an annoying rendering bug, that happened only a few times in the past half year. It has been confirmed by everyone in our office on this particular website, but I think it happens only in maybe one out of a hundred visits. It has not been confirmed on other websites. I created an isolated test page on which the bug has not appeared yet (for me): http://test5.caribmedia.com/CSS/bugs/png.html Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to http://www.ahata.com Yep, that's it. No isolated example is possible, since it hardly ever happens. Actual Results: http://test5.caribmedia.com/CSS/bugs/logo_distorted.png Expected Results: same, but without the glowing borders. See http://test5.caribmedia.com/CSS/bugs/logo_top.png or http://www.ahata.com
My problem seems different to the examples being described here, but the description matches. PNG images with transparencies seem to be consistently rendered incorrectly IF they were created by GIMP 2.x. Even more odd is that at least one of these images, when displayed within an HTML page, seems to show random bits of other images from Firefox memory: Images: http://www.pogues.com/Pics/BaseGraphics/Masthead.png http://blogs.sun.com/roller/resources/dzm/php_crop.png Weirdness when embedded: http://www.pogues.com/ (the weirdness is Masthead.png from above)
> My problem seems different to the examples being described here, but the > description matches. Neglected to mention - This is using the nightlies. Problem has been observed for at least two weeks (since I upgraded to Fedora Core 5). Did not see the problem on Fedora Core 4 when I was building my own nightlies. Right now: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060524 Minefield/3.0a1
Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!
