333585 - Inbox lost when deleting / compacting emails and AFS space quota exceeded

I lost twice significant parts of the Inbox when deleting/compacting emails.
This happened while I was close to exceed my disk quota on an afs system. Probably the quota is not checked before the Inbox rewritten.

A noble try. But I think resolution should be based on comment 0, which has clear, testable information.  So the bug can be tested and moved forward without additional information from reporter.

In fact the problem is not related to filesystem type the Inbox is located on.
Only recently I experienced again the same problem on an ext3/nfs 
home directory where again I was close to exceeding the quota.
This time I used:
SeaMonkey 1.0
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060316 SUSE/1.0-27 SeaMonkey/1.0

Indeed, in which case it's probably a dupe of one of several other "lost data when out of space" bugs.  (leaving the dupe exercise to someone else) ;)

SeaMonkey v1.0.x is not supported anymore.

Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey v1.1.9 ?

As already stated this one probably is related to / DUP of one of <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?cmdtype=dorem&remaction=run&namedcmd=DUPs333585&sharer_id=41036&list_id=12550709>

No response to  Comment 7, so I close this one for now.
@Reporter: Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you still can reproduce the problem with a current SeaMonkey version and a current OS and if you can contribute a step by step instruction due to <https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines>  (containing every key press and every mouse click) how to reproduce the problem reliably (including upset of an AFS environment for the test).
But this one probably is not a particular SeaMonkey bug, but a MailCore bug, so it seems more promising to word on reproducing and fixing bugs from DUP list than filing new reports.
