Vlad's got a magic little plugin that makes this happen, and maybe if he's nice, he'll post it here so that someone can add it to the wiki.mozilla.org install for us.
Sure, it's available at http://www.vlad1.com/~vladimir/misc/ImageLink.php.txt -- I made some changes to it from the original, which did some stupid stuff.
