Whenever I start Firefox, the Bookmarks toolbar is visible. I can remove it by unchecking it in View->Toolbars, but next time I start Firefox, it is back again! In a related bug, Firefox always starts at a particular window size, even though I change the window size. So, something is not remembering these settings? Where are these settings stored? If I could find that out I may be able to solve it myself. My computer is a work computer full of buggy hardware and crashes often, so this may be a Windows issue - I just need some help in resolving it.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Probably doesn't happen on your version - just start Firefox...
2. Bookmarks toolbar is visible. Delete it using View->Toolbars menu
3. Close and re-start Firefox. Bookmark toolbar is visible again.
Expected Results:
Bookmarks Toolbar should not be visible

I finally figured it out - the file that was causing the problem was:
c:\documentsandsettings\username\application data\mozilla\firefox\profiles...
In the above directory, look fro the "default" folder and within that for the file "localstore.rdf" - when found, delete it! The file will be recreated by Firefox.
Next time you load Firefox, it now remembers your settings once again! Now it remembers my windows size, which toolbars to display and so on... I hope this helps others.
