User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20060307 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: ThunderBird 2.0a1 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) 20060409 TB wants to connect to 140.211.166.199 port 443, although no updates are requested in > Tools > Options > Advanced > Update Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.> Tools > Options > Advanced > Update(s) > "OFF" 2. 3. Actual Results: TB will sometimes try to connect to 140.211.166.199 / port 443 Expected Results: TB should NOT try to request updates if not requested by setting. Even "app.update.auto" and "extensions.update.enabled" set to false don't prevent the update process.
In case you have problems to reproduce it, you can use Kerio 2.1.5 Firewall which easily tracks all outgoing connections. This bug has been discovered thanks to Kerio firewall !
Confirmed with TB version 2 alpha 1 (20060708). => trying to connect to virtual-addons.mozilla.org / IP: 140.211.166.199 with all updates options off.

Reporter, does this issue still occur in the latest supported 2.0.0.x / Shredder trunk nightlies? (1.5.0.x is now end-of-life, and the latest supported 2.0.0.x is 2.0.0.16)
