This is really annoying: If I open a link from another application and Camino was hidden then Camino opens a new window with this link and unhides the hidden window resulting in the new window moved to the back.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
0. Make sure that "Link from other application" is set to "Opens in new tab in the frontmost window".
1. Hide Camino
2. Open a link from another application

Actual Results:
New window is openend and previous window is unhidden.

Expected Results:
Window is unhidden and link is openend in new tab.
I'm 100% sure this is a dupe :)

I just can't remember what it's a dupe *of*...or maybe we just talked about it on IRC and no one ever filed it. Hrm. Anyway, yeah, this needs to be fixed.

cl
We talked about this in bug 322044.
It seems odd this wouldn't be a dupe, but as noted in the other bug, some of us can repro that but not this (and I still can't).

Let's add the dependency for now.

Is everybody who sees this on 10.4?
Depends on: 322044
Keywords: regression
I see this on 10.4 (Camino trunk builds - v1.2+) and 10.3.9 (Camino 1.0).
Mostly with NNW (pref set to keep browser in the background) but also with Mail.app (when *command clicking* a link). If I do a 'normal' click on a link in Mail.app, then Camino unhides, comes forward and opens the link in a new tab, as expected.
Sorry that it didn't occur to me, but it really seems to be related to applications opening links in the background. It might be the case that I only saw this in NNW Lite.
What's the regression window here? Is it the same as in bug 322044?

Yes: 20051218 works, 20051219 fails (tested with NNW).

mento says his patch in bug 322044 fixes this, but it seems this is different enough a bug (and causes enough confusion in bug 322044) to not dupe.
