I set the "display resolution" (in tools options content fonts advanced) to 2.05 inches which inturn sets the DPI to 147 (I have a dell i8600, screen is 1920x1200)

after it is set to 147dpi I press OK

If I go back into advanced the setting is gone again, and the font sizes do not change (eg for fonts set at 12pt, obviously a font set to 12px isn't going to change).

If the dpi in FX is not respected on the doze platform, instead inheriting whatever windows' dpi is ... then the option should not be visible

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:  
fonts dont change size
setting is forgotten

Expected Results:  
non-pixel font sizes to be correct
setting to be remembered in the config

Indeed, it shouldn't be visible, and won't be in Fx 2.0. (The various other bugs of which the bugginess is a duplicate are mostly mentioned in bug 323962, or in the bugs it mentions.)
