All that appears in the search box is the generic search icon and no other search engines are available nor able to be added.Info typed in this field and pressing enter results in nothing happening When I click an 'Add Search Engine' link it doesnt effect my search box even on restart. As a result my search box is useless

I had this happen as well.  It was corrected when I upgraded to Firefox 2.0.
