Just see code. When I try to reinstall Java jre-1_5_0_06 it installs almost completely but than goes into an error about Expression:pos<t-maxPos and says I need to look up C++ Documentation on Assertion. When I try to activate Java in Firfox from the Java applet in Control Panel it tells me: Unable to change browser settings Pleasae check that Mozilla or Netscape is properly installed on the system and/or that you have sufficient permissions to change system settings. I first noted this problem with 1.0.7 but have reinstalled earlier versions as well as nightly version with the same results. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.try to open a site that uses Java such as macromedia.com or sprint.com 2. 3. Actual Results: I end up with a page of what looks like source code. Just text with no links. Expected Results: A graphical page with links Occurs in the default theme as well as nautipolis. Why do you macromedia expect to serve Java? These are the guys marketing Flash! please verify your flash installation: http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/welcome/ http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/java_script_comm/javascript_to_flash.html I also didn't find Java at http://sprint.com/ You can check your Java installation at http://java.com/, see http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp?detect=jre&try=1 type about:plugins into the location bar to see which plugins are recognized by firefox. about:plugins is showing me: Java(TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition 5.0 Update 6 Dateiname: NPJava11.dll Java Plug-in 1.5.0_06 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper) and some more entries. wfm Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; de; rv:1.8.0.2) Gecko/20060308 Firefox/1.5.0.2 wfm Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; de-AT; rv:1.8.0.2) Gecko/20060404 SeaMonkey/1.0.1
Perhaps it is not Java where the problem lies. I can't verify my java setup as that exhibits the problem I am having. The java plugin (Dateiname: NPJava11.dll Java Plug-in 1.5.0_06 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper))was there.
