Actually, editgroups.cgi only let you see which groups will inherit privileges from the group you are viewing, but it doesn't let you see privileges you would get if added to the current group.

For instance, I can see nowhere if being added to the admin group will add me (by inheritance) to all other groups. By default, it's the case, but you can change this and you have no way to know this without looking at all groups, unless finding a user in this group, and editing his account to see the groups he is in (but even in this case, you cannot know if he is in some given group because he is in the admin group or because he is in some other group, etc...). And this workaround doesn't work if there is no user in the group you are interested yet. ;)
