Details
If a link to a search engine definition is detected (see bug 335444), the chrome should discreetly notify the user of this, and give the user the option to add that engine to the browser search bar.

Right, then. What sort of discreet-but-obvious, subtle-but-intuitive, unintrusive-but-discoverable notification do we want? If the search-engine selection button gets pulled outside the search box (see bug 335441), we could modify it (red, blinking, underlayed with a yellow splat...). Then a menu item in its drop-down would contain "Add Example.com to this list". If that's too subtle, maybe change the background color of the search box, too? And what about when the Search button isn't on the toolbar? My inclination would be not to bother with the notification in that case.
