335597 - Bookmarks are deleted with updates

I know this is a duplicate, but I didn't see a resolution.  Please tell me how (in lay person's terms, I do not code) to either retrieve my bookmarks, stop constant updates, or make it so that the bookmarks do not get removed (which I might add is  a remarkably lame feature of an update).  Thank you.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Browser
2.Note fresh update
3.Look to toolbar which is empty

Actual Results:  
All it is is a flaw in the updating process.  It eats my bookmarks, and it's not very nice.

Expected Results:  
They were all gone.

Left my bookmarks alone.

This is a dupe of bug 249150, which has to do with bookmarks lost on a fx build without places.  In the meantime, that bug is the place to report this.
