I'm trying to install the Adblock extension via the addons.mozilla.org page and when I click to install it now it will show on the same window that the software installation is disabled on the top of the window. I open preferences to allow software installation even though addons.mozilla.org, mozilla.org and update.mozilla.org is in the exception list. Now I try again with allowing software install but it still gives me the software installation disabled even thought I clearly in the preferences. I have try this with Firefox 1.5.0.3 on a Windows 2000 SP4 system and the same thing occurs. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.In Firefox Select Tools->extensions
2.Click on "Get More Extensions"
3.When Addons/extension windows open then click on Adblock for this example
4.Click on "Install Now" and the if you have software installation disabled it will put and message that you have software installation disable and option to open the preference to allow software installation.
5.Click on "Install Now" and it will still show software installation disabled.

Actual Results:  
Can't install extensions from addons.mozilla.org

Expected Results:  
Install extensions from addons.mozilla.org

I have tried this with Forecastfox and other extension with the same results. Also I have tried this on Firefox 1.5.0.3 on a Windows 2000 SP4 with latest security updates and the same thing happens.
Bug 310737 covers this and has instructions on how to manually fix this for your system.
