Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 I have upgraded (later downgraded to 1.0.*) to 1.5 afterwards I completed a download of extensions. I believe the "blue frog" extension for spam mail was what crashed firefox the first time. I installed Crash Recovery 0.6.3 which did bring up the windows i had again. I promptly disabled then uninstalled it along with several other extensions. I closed the program after reopen it still shows in red letters what it will do when firefox is restarted. I downgraded (kept old program's installer) and the problem was gone. Today I decided I liked functions on .15.* to reinstall it using a new installer (downloaded today around 3pm) after reinstall I went back to check and all old extensions are still there. I can not get new extensions to install and all old ones are still there. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Firefox (only thing i really have to do but to see it. . .) 2. Try to use extension or view the Extensions button under tools 3. Close firefox and return to #1 Actual Results: The extensions remain unchanged like they are set in stone. Expected Results: New extensions installed and all old extensions uninstalled or disabled whatever the program said it would do upon restart. about:buildconfig Build platform target i586-pc-msvc Build tools Compiler Version Compiler flags $(CYGWIN_WRAPPER) cl 12.00.8804 -TC -nologo -W3 -Gy -Fd$(PDBFILE) $(CYGWIN_WRAPPER) cl 12.00.8804 -TP -nologo -W3 -Gy -Fd$(PDBFILE) Configure arguments --enable-application=browser --enable-update-channel=release --enable-optimize --disable-debug --disable-tests --enable-static --disable-shared --enable-official-branding --enable-svg --enable-canvas --enable-update-packaging

Several extension manager patches have landed on what will become 1.5.0.4. Could you try a recent nightly build of 1.5.0.4 to see if the problem is fixed? Thanks http://mozilla.osuosl.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla1.8.0.4/

New upgrade did not fix the problem all extensions are still shown unable to use any of them. I'm thinkin` that something about the way it registers what to do with them is incorrect not sure why it was a problem that remained after a complete uninstall. . .

Extensions are stored in the profile and are not removed on uninstall. To take this to the next step I will need the extensions.cache, extensions.ini, and extensions.rdf files and the extensions directory from your profile directory - this is not the same as the directory with firefox.exe in it - zipped up and emailed to me so I can debug it. Below is a link with details on how to find your profile folder http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile People have had difficulty with sending attachments with these files from yahoo accounts in the past. If you have difficulty let me know and I'll provide you with an account that can email the zipped up files. Thanks.

Looking at the rdf it appears this was at least in part due to bug 319022 which is too risky for 1.8.0. Deleting the extensions.rdf fixed the problem. Resolving -> Dupe *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 319022 ***
