Firefox and thunderbird have already been translated to Breton (fr-BR), but I see that the team doesn't exist, so I'd like to create it, to submit the translations. My name's Giulia Fraboulet, you can join me at 'email@example.com', website: http://stationlinux.org/ubuntu-bzh/ Thank you! Reproducible: Always
Just to clarify some things: Breton is a regional language from France, spoken in the western Brittany peninsula (Bretagne in French, Breizh in Breton). Its ISO 639-1 code is "br" which should be enough to make a short locale name. http://www.ethnologue.com/14/show_language.asp?code=BRT http://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/englangn.html#ab http://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Simple_locale_names
Created attachment 258536 [details] The .jar file for thunderbird. Trying to get the sources (I don't have them, I'm not the translator)

Comment on attachment 258548 [details] Sources for traduction of firefox This is actually not in the structure of our source. Diello\303\271/Trei\303\261/locale/browser/browser.dtd for example should be in br-FR/browser/chrome/browser/browser.dtd. I'm afraid there's no automated way to accomplish that, at least no simple one.
Comment on attachment 258549 [details] Sources for traduction of thundebird This is just a packed language pack, not a source either.
Giulia: Thanks very much for doing this work. We've recently developed new documentation about how to become an official l10n team for Firefox or Thunderbird: http://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Starting_a_localization Could you please follow the procedure there, including creating yourself an L10n wiki page? That will make you the official Breton localisation team. If you can get yourself to the stage where you are able to distribute a working language pack for the latest version of Firefox, we can discuss reviewing and checking the localisation into CVS. (This will require you, among other things, to make the changes Axel is talking about.) If you find the documentation isn't detailed enough, please let us know so we can fix it. Alternatively, if you are no longer interested in localising Firefox into Breton, please let us know. Gerv
No response after a month; closing the bug as INCOMPLETE. If anyone reading this is interested in localising Mozilla products into this language, we'd love to hear from you! Please file a new bug about it. Thanks, Gerv
