User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; nl; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; nl; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 I have safari and firefox running on my mac. When using Safari, I noticed that you can drag a picture from the browser directly into the iPhoto icon in the dock, when using Safari. With firefox you have to right-click and save as...I don't know if this is a bug or not an option yet. Would be nice though. Reproducible: Always
Behavior confirmed with iPhoto 6.0.5 and Photoshop 7.0. Interesting aside: both Safari and Firefox give an Aqua + cursor when you drag an image over the library window, but neither app causes an import to happen. Updating summary to explain this is about the dock icon and not application specific. Was: Mac: drag pictures from browser into iPhoto (Safari does it) Now: drag pictures from browser onto dock icons I suspect this is a generalized case of the wrong type of drag being done. I haven't looked at this since System-7 promises so somebody else can apply modern knowledge here. At that time there was a gizmo to watch the event queue for drag events details.
