(In reply to comment #0) I haven't been able to reproduce this bug in either 1.5 or current trunk. Maybe I am misunderstanding the instructions > Send Formula-Data [search-field: "ünü"] I enter "ünü" in the text box labelled "Suchbegriff(e)" and press "Suche". Is that right? > go on a website with another charset > [ http://www.onlex.de ] Does it make a difference how you go to the other website? I tried both with entering the URI manually in the address bar and dragging the link from the tab with this bug report to the tab with http://www.uni-konstanz.de/suche/?cont=search&lang=de Finally, what is your default character encoding in preferences?
I can confirm this bug with trunk 2007112405. The uni-konstanz.de website still uses the correct character set after hitting the back button, but when you then _refresh_ it (resending the form data), it takes on the character set of the next visited website (which in my case I dragged onto the tab). So since the character set of onlex.de is iso-8859-1, the search box will show "ünü" rather than "ünü". My default character set is the default ISO-8859-1, but this happens when I change that to UTF-8 as well.
