If you now click in the left margin (between the border and text) of the textarea, then the caret winds up at the beginning of the row several lines above where you clicked. You might be thinking, "What margin?". This bug is easier to see if you go to http://groups.google.com/ and use one of their textareas which have more margin area. However, you can even see the problem here - click with the mouse just over the left border, or 1 pixel to the right of the left border of the textarea. The scrollbar doesn't need to be at the bottom, but the effect is more pronounced there. I'm not seeing the problem when the scrollbar is at the top. Csaba Gabor from Vienna Reproducible: Always
