Details

I'm trying to import several certificates from PEM files.  Sometimes the certificate imports fine.  Sometimes it fails.  In both cases, there is no UI to tell me what happened.

Clues: on one of the certificates that I failed to import, I manually imported an intermediate certificate, and then I was able to import.  But for others, I was not able to find a trick to get it to import, even when I believe I had correctly installed the cert chain.

I would like to know why the failure occurred.
I have started to work on this in bug 310446.
