User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 If I have a DHTML file with Absolute Positioning, and I go to Print Preview, and view it at Scale 100%, it's fine. If I scale up or down, say, to 200%: 1. The background page remains the same width and height; 2. The words remain at their absolute positions relative to that background page, but the individual words are scaled up. Note: the scale setting remains in place next time you open Print Preview (at least within this session; didn't try closing Firefox and reopening), so the next thing you Print Preview will instantly pop up badly scaled. The page prints fine, so it's just the zooming in the viewer that's broken. I expect this is related to bugs 205001 and 153080, which also relate to zooming in the Print Preview viewer, but I didn't see other references to Absolute Positioning. I tried the same thing in IE 5.0's Print Preview, and the whole page scaled up as one, which you would expect. Here, individual elements scale up, but the page on which they're being displayed remains the same initial size. So the positions of the elements remains the same, their sizes grow and shrink, and thus they run into each other, NOT reflecting the way the page will eventually print. I'd think, with 4 years of reports of similar zooming problems, you might have gotten somewhere. Lord knows the product managers would be screaming at my boss, who would be leaning on me, if there were such a persistent, visible problem. I realize this is a largely volunteer effort, but still. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. view html 2. pull down File->Print Preview 3. change the scale from 100% to 200%. watch things look ugly. Actual Results: scaled the words and pictures, but not the page or their positions on the page. Expected Results: scaled the whole page as one, elements and positions and background. I'm classifying it as "Major" because it's a first-level pulldown menu item that is just plain broken, and because it has apparently not been fixed for several years. Maybe someone will take notice. Feel free to reclassify it down.
