The "View -> Display Attachments Inline" setting sounds like it will affect the way things are viewed only.  It's in the "View" menu after all, and is about how things are displayed.

However, if I have 'display attachments inline' turned on, and view a message with a text attachment, and then hit 'reply', the contents of the text attachment end up in the message composition window, along with the body of the message.

A 'view' setting shouldn't affect how replies are composed.

Yesterday I was viewing a message with an 8 Mb text attachment on my laptop.  When I hit 'reply', Thunderbird locked up, with the CPU at 100%.  I left it for 2 hours, but it still didn't come back.  I guess it was very slowly prefixing each line in the text attachment with "> " in the message composition window, but I don't know.  I ended up having to kill Thunderbird because I was getting blisters on my legs.

Actual Results:  
I don't expect the attachments to a message to be included in replies to it, no matter how I am viewing the original message when I hit reply.

This is a known bug.
