To know how many newsgroups are relayed by a news server, there's a manual method: see news:445d2c1e$0$168$a3f2974a@nnrp1.numericable.fr and its short thread (a summary :
> Go to your user profile directory
> Go to the "News" subdirectory, and inside that to another subdirectory for the news server.
> Look in the latter subdirectory for a file called "hostinfo.dat".
> Now count the number of lines after the "begingroups" line.. )
But it would be much simpler if the subscription dialogue box could show the exact number of newsgroups available, as well as the latest refresh date (until Bug 40260 is fixed AKA until SeaMonkey shows automagically new available newsgroups as Outlook Express does ;)
Ah, one last thing : a maximize button for this box, as well as other similar windows would be nice : Bug 271743)

Reproducible: Always
