User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 Everything was working fine using Firefox until I upgraded 2 versions ago. Suddenly every website I visited that had a short QT movie appeared with the logo dimmed and a "?" over it. I looked to see if I had the latest versions of all the plugins (flash, shockwave, QT, etc.), everything was there in the proper folders. Firefox just failed to reference them or something. I thought I'd live with it until the next upgrade but when I just installed it, still the same problem. I even tried a new user account etc., same thing. Please help. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. logon to firefox 2. Any website (yahoo, citibank, amazon, myspace, imdb, zoom-in, dotphoto, nytimes, etc.) with a QT gif or animation. 3. refreshing or creating new user account with new preferences does not fix the problem Actual Results: the QT logo appears in certain windows with the "?" in the middle of it. Expected Results: a short animated image or movie file is supposed to play or a still image should appear with a reference to click on and be directed to a short animation or movie file. Could it be an OS problem? I am running 10.3.9 on this machine and my other computer runs 10.4.6 with no problems in this area.
Most of these sites use Flash animation, not QuickTime, but QT does not include support for recent versions of Flash. Following the steps below (swapping your Firefox profile location for the Camino one) should fix the problem: http://www.caminobrowser.org/support/faq/#troub_qtime
