Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060602 Minefield/3.0a1
Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird version 3 alpha 1 (20060602)

If mail.check_all_imap_folders_for_new is set to true, I am prompted twice to log in.

This bug is not new, my guess is that it has been happening for 3-4 weeks now (that's a guess).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set mail.check_all_imap_folders_for_new to true
2. Restart Thunderbird
3. Note that you are prompted for your login password twice

Actual Results:
After logging in twice, Thunderbird works OK.

Expected Results:
In the past TB only prompted ONCE for this password. This is obviously how it should still work now..

Both login boxes do actually drive IMAP connections to the server, and packet tracing shows that for each password dialog box that is entered, an IMAP connection is authenticated to the server.
Possibly the same basic issue as bug 337879 / bug 338549.
I see this with IMAPS. Probably related to bug 340834.

I'm not seeing this. Can anyone repro w/ a recent build? Marking blocking- optimistically.
