User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1) Build Identifier: version 0.6 (20040502) Checked saved passwords, it shows some I have already removed on previous occasion(s). I have to input password for one mail account every time. Check it is saved, and it is there, but have to remove old ones as before. Exit, come back in, new password is not there, old ones are still there after already having removed them a number of times before. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go into thunderbird, asks for mail pop3 password. 2.input password. Check password manager and is ok now. 3.next time in same again, always asks for password, if press cancel and check Password manager, password is not there. Actual Results: as above, easy to understand. Expected Results: always the same Should have stored password and not keep asking me for it. When I remove old passwords for no longer used accounts, they always reappear in Password manager the next time in.
Obviously, something is corrupted on your system.
Mac OS X 10.4.7 ThunderBird version 1.5.0.5 (20060719) 6 POP accounts managed by Thunderbird 2 Yahoo, .Mac, SBC, gmail and private domain acct I see this happening as well, seems to reoccur with Yahoo and my SBC email accounts more than the others. I delete saved passwords in Thunderbird after I start getting prompted repeatedly for already saved passwords that fail on auotmatic submission by Thunderbird to my services, quit the app and re-enter passwords at the next launch and they initially appear to work but over time Thunderbird apparently corrupts the data. The passwords work when direct web access is made to the affected accounts. Re-entering passwords when prompted and checking to save in Thunderbird has no effect, keeps prompting for password. Extremely annoying. As a long time Thunderbird user, there is a definite pattern to this issue and it appears to be related to 1.5 and it's point revisions. I may revert back to the previous version if this bug cannot be addressed soon as it is quite aggravating.

Reporter, does this issue still occur in the latest supported 2.0.0.x / Shredder trunk nightlies? (1.5.0.x is now end-of-life and the latest supported 2.0.0.x is 2.0.0.16)

So am I supposed to change my version? Is that going to lose all my previous mails? This isnt much help at all
(In reply to comment #4) > So am I supposed to change my version? Is that going to lose all my previous > mails? This isnt much help at all You can do an upgrade to Thunderbird 2.0.0.16, which is a stable version. Your mails should be safe, but as always, do a backup of your profile first. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Backing_Up_and_Restoring
