Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060531 SeaMonkey/1.0.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060531 SeaMonkey/1.0.2

Things will be working fine, then out of the blue the browser gets confused and the URL/location bar gets "stuck." What I mean by "stuck" is that it always displays the same URL regardless of what page I am actually viewing. For example, when I click the button to open a new tab, the URL displayed for the new tab is the URL from another tab that I had open rather than being blank as it should be. If I center-click a link to open the link in a new tab, the URL displayed for that tab is not the URL of the link, it is the URL from one of the older tabs.

If I open a new browser window, the new window seems to work OK while the tabs in the old window remain afflicted until I exit the browser.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. unknown at this time
2.
3.

Actual Results:
URL/location bar displays URL from an older tab

Expected Results:
Display of URL corresponding to the actual page being displayed (or empty if a new tab was opened).

I've run into this twice since installing SeaMonkey 1.0.2 two days ago. I don't think I ever saw it with 1.0.1, which I used for a month and a half, so the chances are good that it is related to a change made in 1.0.2.
Probably dupe of Bug 332874. I wonder if the SeaMonkey project could provide some kind of hotfix (a small XPI) which would fix this issue. Only one line of code in a JS file needs to be moved, then the bug is gone.
If this bug annoys you too much, download a build from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/nightly/latest-mozilla1.8.0/. These builds should be just as stable as SeaMonkey 1.0.x, but with this bug here being fixed (in this directory on the ftp server you'll always find the latest SeaMonkey 1.0.x build).

Thanks, Frank. It looks like you are right. I just observed the behavior again, so I opened the JavaScript console and I do get a "Error: gContextMenu.menu has no properties" whenever I click on a tab in the broken window, with no such errors when I use a new window that doesn't have the wrong-URL problem.
Hello I got this problem with the last
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr-FR; rv:1.8.0.8) Gecko/20061030 SeaMonkey/1.0.6
So i cannot be a duplicate of 332874 because it has been fixed 6 months ago
Please, reopen and fix it
tech@mediaforest.net, I'm using the same version as you (but on Linux) and I haven't seen it. In fact, I haven't seen this bug at all in the last few versions, and I was seeing it pretty frequently (maybe once a day) when I originally reported it.
